A Mend

At The Mend Packaging, we’re passionate about educating our communities on the importance of waste segregation practices. Which leads us to aMEND: our student volunteer program designed to spread awareness about recycling practices PAN-India. Our students care deeply about the environment and making a change, no matter how small. They work with our waste management partners, host eco-friendly workshops and use digital media to dwell out important information on the need for a more sustainable life.

aMEND is launching another exciting project soon: an annual Green Summit. The summit will act as a hackathon to conceptualise and solve sustainable issues in our field. Whether that’s coming up with innovative packaging solutions that benefit the environment, brainstorming new eco-friendly materials such as biodegradable shipping boxes or eco friendly polybags, or solving for excess packaging waste; aMEND will bring together minds across various fields and occupations to solve the problems in our industry as pertains to sustainability.

Recyclable

materials or products that can be used again after they have been treated using a special industrial process (Cambridge dictionary)

Industrially compostable

Industrial composting can deal with a broader range of compostable products and operates in a highly controlled setting with specific temperatures and conditions. Industrial composting is able to apply a far higher temperature to the already pre-processed packaging material. The high heat breaks the packaging down even further, hastening the decomposition.
