The Mend Packaging goes One Step Further
by designing solutions for more circular future.
Packaging is ubiquitous- every brand needs packaging to protect, brand, enhance the customer experience, and communicate the attributes of the product of their customers. Yet, it is also the most futile part of the product value chain as it is typically discarded after use.
With The Mend, rethink your packaging.
The Mend Packaging aims to unbox a greener future not only by creating recycled packaging and employing innovative packaging solutions but also by reducing waste. To facilitate and streamline packaging waste collection, and also recycle it further, we have partnered with certified waste management firms and verified third party recyclers across India with industry experience of over 20 years.
This program ensures your waste can act as a feedstock, thereby extending the life of your products and packaging.
The Mend Packaging aims to unbox a greener future not only by creating recycled packaging and employing innovative packaging solutions but also by reducing unnecessary waste. To facilitate and streamline packaging waste collection, and also recycle it further, we have partnered with certified waste management firms and verified third party recyclers across India with industry experience of over 20 years. The Mend Packaging uses pre and post-consumer recycled materials to create eco-friendly packaging solutions.
This program ensures circularity and minimum wastage of resources by reusing the waste generated by end consumers while disposing their packaging.
Waste generated from your business operations will be collected by our waste partners from your premises.
The collected waste will be sorted, processed/recycled at waste recycling facilities. Our waste management partners have recycling facilities in over 35+ locations in India.
In the case of non-recyclable waste, we ensure that the waste is incinerated ethically or utilised in waste to energy plants
To ensure transparency, The Mend Packaging™ will issue detailed Sustainability Reports to verify, and monitor the recycled packaging waste. This primarily applies to dry waste. Wet waste will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
This applies to companies generating more than 100 kgs of waste at their premises on a monthly basis.
To take your impact one step further- partner with us to recycle and reuse an equivalent amount of paper as your packaging output.
By recycling this output we are equalising your impact on the environment and ensuring that it goes back into the circular economy thereby offsetting your waste footprint.
The Mend Packaging™ will issue Sustainability Reports for verification. The reports will help you assess and evaluate the waste generated by your business operations, carbon emissions impact, and offset through recycling and planting trees.
Your contribution will be monetary to the extent of collection and processing.
In compliance with the EPR guidelines notified by the Union Environment Ministry, the regulations mandate recycling and reusing a certain percentage of plastic produced by manufacturers, importers and brand owners.
In association with our waste management partners, you can register your PIBO under the EPR guidelines and they will handle the compliance and reporting on your behalf.
Post recycled, your business will earn a value of plastic credits and compliance in accordance with the EPR guidelines.
We take our commitment to the environment seriously and offset our workforce’s carbon footprint by donating to plant trees in our “Mend Forest” and encourage our clients to offset their entire packaging footprint by contributing towards the same. We calculate the carbon footprint emitted from your packaging and the equivalent trees that can be planted to offset the same- these trees can be planted in the Forest to completely negate your carbon footprint.
We also offer options of Air and Road transport for our clients to make an informed decision before shipping their packaging to them. This helps our clients evaluate the carbon footprint and cost of transport and take an informed decision regarding the same. This footprint can be offset by donating to our Mend Forest as well.
materials or products that can be used again after they have been treated using a special industrial process (Cambridge dictionary)
Industrial composting can deal with a broader range of compostable products and operates in a highly controlled setting with specific temperatures and conditions. Industrial composting is able to apply a far higher temperature to the already pre-processed packaging material. The high heat breaks the packaging down even further, hastening the decomposition.
